Exploring Spinal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Neurosurgical Case Series

چکیده
Spinal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SSAH) is a rare condition that can cause spinal cord or nerve root compression and permanent neurologic damage. The reported etiologies include trauma, vascular malformations aneurysms, coagulopathies, neoplasms, autoimmune disease, spontaneous hemorrhage. If there evidence of deterioration, it commonly managed as surgical emergency, but cases conservative management have also been reported. In this case series, we present three patients who suffered from SSAH. first was cervical SSAH occurred following cardiac catheterization, the second thoracolumbar in patient with known history coagulopathy, third caused by dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF). All exhibited deficits thus underwent emergent decompression hematoma evacuation. dAVF required open ligation fistula. Following intervention, all regained at least partial function, one developed symptomatic arachnoid cysts further intervention. presented series highlights importance time-sensitivity experiencing These underscore urgency timely neurosurgical intervention to mitigate impairment add insights existing literature on condition.

INTRODUCTION Spinal subarachnoid hemorrhage has many causes including trauma, vascular malformations, aneurysms, spinal cord tumors, coagulation abnormalities, use of anticoagulants, systemic lupus erythematosus, or Behçet's disease. We report on a rare case of a spontaneous spinal subarachnoid hemorrhage after severe coughing of unknown origin. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first r...

BACKGROUND Spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma (SSEH) is a rare spinal cord disorder requiring urgent diagnosis and prompt treatment to prevent irreversible neurological damage. Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), usually presenting with headache and neck stiffness, is also a worldwide neurosurgical emergency. In this case study, a patient on clopidogrel presented with an SSEH mimicking a spontaneo...
متن کاملDelayed Spinal Arachnoiditis Following Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Case Report
Spinal arachnoiditis (SA) is a rare and delayed complication of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). We present a case of delayed SA associated with thoracic and lumbar arachnoid cysts in a patient with aSAH secondary to a ruptured vertebral artery aneurysm. The patient underwent a thoracic laminectomy for decompression of the spinal cord, lysis of arachnoid adhesions, and fenestration of...

Very rarely, spinal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SSAH) can occur without any direct spinal injury in patients with traumatic intracranial SAH. A-59-year-old male with traumatic intracranial subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) presented with pain and numbness in his buttock and thigh two days after trauma. Pain and numbness rapidly worsened and perianal numbness and voiding difficulty began on the next da...
